Being in Charge

Being in charge of the finances for a home really forces you to pay attention to the money. What’s going in and out – it’s all important in the grand scheme of things and how it works to save up money. So I try to make sure I’m really informed when it comes to the family finances. 

For example, I went to http://www.giveadish.com just to get a handle on satellite rates so I would know if we were overpaying. And I try to switch up my grocery stores week over week to make sure I know what things cost in the economy we’re in. 

My husband’s really proud of how much money we’ve been saving and I feel good about what I’m contributing to the family as a whole. I love staying at home, but I want to pull my weight, too, so this is the best way I know to do so. I can’t believe there are so many ways to save money out there and that more people aren’t taking advantage of it!
